- James Pelletier was a co-author on a landmark paper on creating a minimal synthetic organism:
- CBA has received an award from DARPA's Biological Technologies Office:
to develop "B-codes" – direct cellular interfaces for machine control that are analogous to the G-codes used in manufacturing automation, and has received an award from the Hearst Foundation:
for FAB: The Game, a video game to teach digital fabrication skills.
