- CBA researchers report on a natural solar cell with improved performance, based on coating nanowires with photosystem-I from plants:
- We're delighted to have received our newest research tool, a 56,200 pound (!) materials tester:
This will support the development and application of digital composites.
- CBA and its Barcelona city partners participated in a Smart City Expo there:
- CBA led a global team that operated a fab lab in the heart of the Congress Center at the World Economic Forum in Davos in January:
With support from the Rajeev Motwani Foundation, Moog Inc., and the Aramco Services Company this lab will now be donated to a facility for children of migrant salt pan workers in Gujarat, India.
- CBA's sensing work contributed to a feature on touchcreens:
- Profs. Jacobson and Gershenfeld with a number of CBA collaborators are teaching a class on self-replication and machines that make machines:
This will be broadcast through the fab lab videoconference on CBA's MCU:
- Prof. Gershenfeld will speak about the future of computing at the American Physical Society's March Meeting in Boston:
- A team from CBA and Autodesk did 3D scanning of Egyptian antiquities at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston:
These data are being used to test models for missing artifacts based on fragments in their collection.
